A Class 114 at Lincoln Central. This fleet of 49 power + trailer 2-car units was for many years allocated to Lincoln (LN) depot for medium-distance services across a wide area of eastern England, extending deep into Yorkshire and down to destinations such as Peterborough. Along with the Derby (DY) based Class 120s - which worked many Cross-Country routes across central England - they were largely replaced from the mid-1980s by Class 150/1 Sprinters. This shot illustrates the white and blue DMU Refurbished livery which was applied between 1975 and 1979. This image will have been taken in the late 1970s (though early 1980s is possible).
